In order to further promote the construction of our university's social responsibility and strengthen the cooperation with world-renowned universities in the field of university social responsibility, Sichuan University delegation went to Israel to participate in the “2018 University Social Responsibility Summit Forum from November 30th to December 6th. The delegation included the staffs from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Lu Li (vice minister of the Sichuan University Party Committee Student Work Department), Pan Jie (vice dean of West China School of Public Health), Professor Yang Min, Chen Chu (Ph.D. student), and Cai Xia (graduate student) from Sichuan University Development Research Center Cai Xia.

During the meeting, the members of the Social Responsibility Network, including the University of Haifa, the University of Washington, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Sichuan University, introduced the challenges faced by the global economy, society, culture, and the environment and shared their experience on how to promote university social responsibility.
As a teacher representative of Sichuan University, Professor Yang Min gave a keynote speech entitled "Preliminary experience of service learning in healthcare prospective in Sichuan University", sharing the experiences and challenges of West China School of Public Health in promoting service-oriented learning project. The project fully integrates service and learning. While serving primary health institutions and the public, students have strengthened their understanding of the health status of primary health institutions and the rural population and improved their social responsibility. The participants showed great interest in our school's service-oriented learning project and had a lively discussion.

Chen Chu, as a PhD student representative of our university, made a speech entitled "Growing through service learning", sharing her understanding of social responsibility after attending the service-oriented learning project. She emphasized that this project improved her sense of social responsibility for the health problems of rural people, especially the poor people. She integrated the sense of responsibility into her research to help the poor people.

In addition, the conference set up a "University Social Responsibility Network" by representatives of members and students of the "University Social Responsibility Network" to further promote the construction of social responsibilities in each member university.

Finally, the conference arranged a visit to Haifa University and Hebrew University to promote university social responsibility projects. Through on-site inspections, we further understood the efforts, experiences and challenges faced by the two universities in promoting social responsibility.
Universities have a responsibility to face global economic, social, cultural and environmental challenges, and to find solutions to promote fairness, harmony, peace and sustainable development in the world. Members from many countries gathered at the conference to discuss the impact and significance of university social responsibility, share the project experience and problems they face, which is helpful for our university to continue the promotion of university social responsibility.
